WHAT IT IS MADE OF

Built to be climbed on

FSC certified pine

New Zealand pine from responsibly managed forests. Solid wood, not veneered particle board, so it takes the knocks a child's room delivers.

CPC certified

Carries a Children's Product Certificate, confirming it meets the child safety requirements for its category. Documentation available on request.

Water based paint

Finished with water based paint rather than solvent heavy coatings. It is the surface they will chew on eventually, so it matters.

Slats, no box spring

Supportive slats spread the weight and let air move under the mattress. Nothing else to buy, nothing to hunt down separately.

BEFORE IT ARRIVES

Getting the room ready

A floor bed changes the room, because now they can get out of it. Worth ten minutes before the first night.

01

Mind the wall gap

Place the bed either less than 1.5 inches from the wall, or at least 12 inches away, so a child cannot become trapped in the gap.

02

Anchor the furniture

Anything they can climb needs wall brackets. Bookshelves and displays are the usual culprits.

03

Clear the hazards

Cover outlets, remove or secure blind cords, and consider a gate at the door.

04

Soften the edges

Bumpers or padding on the bed edges help until they are used to sleeping in it.

Always follow your health care provider's safe sleep requirements, which may include removing pillows, duvets and loose covers. Full guidance on our Safety First page.

Questions parents ask

When is a child ready for a floor bed?

The American Academy of Pediatrics states that for babies under 12 months, sleep should happen on a surface labelled crib, portable crib, bassinet or play yard. In practice most families make the move between roughly 18 months and 3 years, often once a toddler starts climbing out of the crib. Follow your health care provider's guidance for your child.

Is a mattress included?

No, the frame ships on its own so you can choose the mattress. Check the description above for the recommended mattress size and depth for this bed, since it varies between models.

Do I need a box spring?

No. Slats are included and support the mattress directly.

How hard is assembly?

It arrives flat packed with a manual. Most families find two people and a free afternoon is the comfortable way to do it rather than rushing it solo.

Will they outgrow it quickly?

Not usually. These frames are sized to carry a child well past the toddler years, and the low profile keeps working as a reading and play space long after the crib is gone.

Can I return it if it does not suit the room?

Yes, within 30 days, unopened and unused in the original packaging. Return shipping is at your expense. If it arrives damaged, contact us with photos and we will sort it out at our cost. Full detail in our refund policy.

Not sure it fits the room?

Send us the wall measurements and we will tell you honestly whether this one works or whether a different frame suits you better.
