The worry with a floor bed is rarely the bed. It is what happens after they climb out of it at two in the morning. The Little Dreamer answers that with a 30 inch fence right around the frame and a gate that locks, so it works as an enclosed space rather than an open mattress on the floor.
The gate is interchangeable and fits on either side, and it comes off entirely once you no longer want it. The lock is built to be straightforward for an adult and awkward for small hands.

Materials and certification
The frame is New Zealand pine, finished with water-based paint.
Mimi Beds, who manufacture this bed, state that the pine is FSC certified and that every bed they make carries a Children's Product Certificate.
A Children's Product Certificate declares that a product conforms to named rules. It is not a certificate about chemical content, and we would rather say that plainly than let a logo imply otherwise.

Assembly and care
Assembly is required and the manual is in the box. The side rails attach one bar at a time, so this one takes longer than a plain frame. Two people and a free afternoon is the comfortable way to do it. Follow the manufacturer's manual for placement, clearances and any age guidance.
Wipe the frame with a damp cloth and dry it. Check the fixings every few months and after the bed has been moved, and retighten anything that has worked loose. Check the gate lock and its alignment at the same time.

Really happy with this baby bed so far! Shipping was surprisingly fast, and everything arrived safely. I also reached out to customer service about the delivery, and they were very helpful and quick to respond. I especially like how high the guardrails are. It makes me feel much more comfortable and safe having my baby sleep in it. Once he starts walking on his own, we can remove the door so he can get in and out more easily. The bed feels sturdy, well made, and practical for a growing baby. Overall, I’m very happy with the purchase and would definitely recommend it!
