The table has raised borders on the edges, which keeps bowls, beads and jigsaw pieces on the surface rather than on the floor. Maple or birch plywood, never particle board and never plastic.

Full specifications
Maple or birch
Both are furniture grade hardwood plywood and both are built the same way. The difference is the wood and the price.
Maple is the denser of the two, with a paler and more even grain, and it is the more expensive option. Birch has more visible figure and costs less.
Neither is a downgrade. If you are matching existing furniture, the image above shows the two side by side.
Both options carry the same CARB compliance and the same finish.
Assembly, use and care
It arrives flat packed with fixings and instructions. It is light enough for one person, though two makes it quicker.
Set the height so their feet reach the floor and their elbows sit level with the table top. Adjust it again when that stops being true rather than waiting until they look cramped.
Set it up on a flat floor. As with any child sized furniture, meals and activities are supervised, and our Safety First page covers placement.
Wipe with a damp cloth and dry it rather than leaving water standing on the varnish. Check the fixings every few months and retighten anything that has worked loose.
